Civilian counsel for service members

Make the first call at first light

A charge, a separation notice or a clearance letter starts a clock. We are civilian military lawyers in Colorado Springs, working beside the military counsel you already have.

Reveille

Every hard day starts at the same hour

On post, the day begins with a call everyone hears. A legal problem begins the same way, only quieter: an agent asking for a few minutes, a letter from a commander, a clearance notice in the mail.

What you do in the first hours shapes what comes after. Most of our work is making those hours count. You don’t sign, you don’t explain yourself, you call.

You don’t need the answers. You only need to be up and make the call.

Prentiss Halloway, founding partner

We are four lawyers in a city that keeps military hours. We work the matters that come out of the installations around us, and we take calls from farther away too.

What the first call is usually about

Four kinds of morning, each with its own page.

  • An American flag on a pole above an iron fence under a cloudy evening sky
    Charged

    Court-martial defense

A charge, an Article 32 hearing or a request for an interview from investigators.
