How it works

From first call to evening colors

Every matter moves through the same hours of the day, whatever the charge or the notice. Here is what each hour holds.

The short version: you call, we listen, we tell you plainly where you stand, and then we get to work. Nothing happens without your say.

Five calls of the day

  1. 01
    0500

    Step 1: Reveille

You call or write. We ask what you have been told, what you have signed and what is due, and we say whether we can help.

  2. 02
    0600

    Step 2: Assembly

We gather the notice or charge sheet, the investigation file and your service record, and meet your military counsel with your permission.

  3. 03
    0800

    Step 3: Briefing

We sit down and lay out each path in plain words: what it risks, what it costs, how long it takes.

  4. 04
    1000

    Step 4: Formation

The hearing, the board, the response or the trial. We prepare you for it and stand with you at it.

  5. 05
    1700

    Step 5: Evening colors

The decision comes. We explain it, plan the next step, and tell you about appeals or upgrades.

What to have at hand for the first call

  • Any notice, order or letter you have received
  • When it was handed to you, and the date it gives for a response
  • The names of anyone who has questioned you
  • What you have signed, if anything
  • Your branch, rank or grade, and unit

Don’t have all of it? Call anyway. We’d rather hear half the story today than all of it after a deadline.
